Tired

Something is making me tired. Don't know if it's running or not enough sleep or both. Or maybe it's the thought of how much there is to do until we move out in 2 and a half weeks, having a lauch party for www.fr2day.co or the fact that we will have no where to live....... Stressed, no don't think so!

Cupcakes on www.fr2day.com

Got myself a plug on the new funky web site here in the South of France. OK so it's Wayne and Karen's website but it's still a plug! Check it out if you haven't seen it cause it's a fab web site. www.fr2day.com, an on line magazine for anyone interested in the South of France. Haven't made the cup cakes for a few weeks as the kids have been on school holidays but did some birthday cup cakes for a mate a few weeks ago where the theme was British Airways and camper vans, that was fun. My friend Karen ran the London Marathon today in a great time of 4hours and 31 minutes. It was a really hot day and it looks like there were a few people out there suffering. Nell McAndrew who is also on fr2day did an amazing time coming in at 3hours and 10mins! I am inspired to enter my 3rd marathon and would love it to be the local one being the Cote d'Azur going all along the coast from Nice to Cannes..... dreaming?

I couldn't even last until Thursday!

I had every intention of not drinking until Thursday until a client come friend decided it was my day to be "bugged" and boy does she do it well! I have never been one for surrounding myself with friends and talking endless girlie chat on the phone so when she started to phone me every half hour about the tiniest of detail I began to loose the plot. I ended up in a car park in Grasse banging my head against the steering wheel with very strange looks from the guy who parked up next to me.

New Year's resolution again for this year was learn to say "No." As you can tell I have not managed to stick to it! Better luck next year! Three glasses of wine by Wednesday is not good but it really was not my fault!

Going to give my liver a rest!

I spoke to a friend today who said that your liver repairs really quickly if you stop drinking so I am going to give mine until Thursday to see if I can repair it, I wonder if that will be long enough? Not that I am a big drinker but I have just got into the habit of snuggling up on the sofa and having one or two glasses of wine before bed.

So tonight I have had lovely freshly juiced apples with sparkling water and I haven't missed the wine at all! It's easy! I wonder how I will feel by Thursday!

Too many parties.

Well we have gone from being complete recluse's to out and out party people. It started three weeks ago where we went from declining all invites to accepting all of them and this morning I am not sure I like it anymore! I have gone from running the Paris Marathon in April to running the Cannes Half Marathon instead, I think that sums up my life at the moment.

Still the running is great but I just know there are not enough hours in the day and I don't have enough will power to put in the training. The big thing also for me is after already running two Marathons in under 3hr 30 min's to do more that 4hrs would make me want to end it all! Too competitive I know but that's just me! Had a great run yesterday with my lovely friend Karen. We have been trying to have a run together for ages so yesterday was the day. Having said that we didn't have the greatest start as we sat up until midnight Friday night and managed to drink three bottles of champagne celebrating the start of the new venture and between four of us and Karen's husband Ian only had one glass!

It was a great run though, we ran 10 miles up and down all the rolling hills in the back country of Grasse in about 1hr 40mins. I was left behind on the hills by Karen and as she is as competative as me I think we will have a good race in Cannes in February!

Freezing rain and a sore head

It was Wayne's birthday yesterday, not a big one but being a bit like a small child he always likes to have a fuss made of him. We started the day early and he looked like he was going to be a in a bad mood as he thought he had not one present to open. But unknown to him I had rushed to Darty the night before and bought him a juicer, something he has always wanted and brought it home and hidden it in Fifi's shower. I then set about wrapping up various vegetables in ribbons and bows for each of the kids to give him. The presents looked very promising and I was getting a little worried that by the time he had got to opening the third veg the carrots he was going to be a bit cross but I thought it would be worth it. We were all giggling like fools and he must have thought we were just taking the Mickey as he has been on a diet for two days and we had just given him a load of zero calorie presents! It was worth it though to see his face when he opened the juicer and made straight for the kitchen and rammed a big handful of carrots and ginger into the machine producing a gorgeous glass of vitamins which he promptly drained and announced, "delicious!" A success and the day just got better and better. Ian and Karen came round to talk "work." I made us a big healthy salad and we had two bottles of white wine between the four of us and didn't talk much "work" at all! Later Mac and Laura called to say could they come round with a bottle of champagne to toast Wayne. They arrived with armfuls of bubbles and nibbles and we sat and drank and caught up on the usual rubbish with them. They left at 7.30pm and after a quick dash to get ready we hot footed it into Valbonne to Wayne's favorite restaurant with our lovely friends Mark and Ashley where we were treated to a lovely dinner on them, so in all a great birthday all round!
